Banksy Display

This was a side project assisting FACL (Fine Arts Conservatory Laboratories) that had the task of remounting a Banksy graffiti original, that was discovered on a wooden building in San Francisco. Graffiti is banned in the city, so the new purpose would be to remove the wall intact, and convert it into a museum display going on an international tour. After receiving the pieces of wall we proceeded to design a mounting system that was archival: ( preservation and reversibility of construction) into a wall-mounted display. The original wall was 120-year old redwood, a bit of dryrot, so care was needed in mounting the planks onto the aluminum honeycomb panel. Adding the final metal picture frame made the panel ready to exhibit.

We even got a nice plug on the front page of the San Francisco Chronicle Sunday newspaper…
